This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application File Manager Pro (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the application.

We reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify you about significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" of this Privacy Policy. You are encouraged to periodically review this Privacy Policy to stay informed of updates.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, certain information is automatically collected through third-party services:

  • Advertising ID (Android Advertising ID)
  • Firebase Installation ID
  • Device model and manufacturer information

b) App Usage Information

  • App interactions (screens visited, buttons tapped, features used)

  • Feature usage statistics

c) Technical and Diagnostic Information

  • Crash logs and stack traces

2.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

We want to be clear about what we DO NOT collect:

2.3 File Access

File Manager Pro is a file management application that requires access to your device's storage to function. However:

  • Files are accessed and managed LOCALLY on your device only
  • We do NOT upload, transmit, or collect your files, photos, videos, or documents
  • File operations (copy, move, delete, rename) are performed entirely on your device
  • No file content or file names are transmitted to our servers or third parties

2.4 Cloud Storage Access

The App allows you to connect to third-party cloud storage services (Google Drive, Dropbox) using OAuth authentication:

  • Authentication is handled directly by the cloud service provider
  • We do NOT receive, store, or have access to your cloud storage credentials
  • Files transferred to/from cloud storage go directly between your device and the cloud service
  • We do NOT collect or transmit your cloud-stored files

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the automatically collected information for the following purposes:

3.1 Analytics

  • Monitor app usage and performance
  • Understand how users interact with the App
  • Identify popular features and usage patterns
  • Diagnose and fix bugs or crashes
  • Make improvements to app functionality and user experience

3.2 Advertising

  • Display advertisements within the App

  • Enable personalized advertising (based on Advertising ID)
  • Frequency capping (prevent showing the same ad too often)

We do NOT sell, rent, or share your data with:

  • Marketing companies (other than ad networks serving ads in the app)
  • Social media platforms
  • Other third parties for their independent use

5.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., court orders, government agencies).

6. DATA SECURITY

6.1 Encryption in Transit

All data transmitted from the App to third-party services is encrypted in transit using industry-standard HTTPS/TLS protocols.

6.2 Security Measures

We implement reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

6.3 Data Retention

  • Analytics data and crash logs are retained according to Firebase's retention policies (typically 2-14 months)
  • Advertising ID data is retained according to AdMob's policies
  • You can reset your Advertising ID through your device settings at any time

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our App is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will delete such information from our systems.

8. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

8.1 Advertising ID

You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising:

  • Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization

8.2 Analytics Opt-Out

Firebase Analytics data collection cannot be disabled within the App, but you can:

  • Uninstall the App to stop all data collection
  • Use device-level privacy settings to limit data collection

8.3 File and Storage Access

You can revoke storage permissions at any time:

  • Android: Settings → Apps → File Manager Pro → Permissions → Storage → Deny

Note: Revoking storage permissions will prevent the App from functioning properly.

8.4 Cloud Storage Access

You can revoke cloud storage access:

  • Google Drive: Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access → Remove File Manager Pro
  • Dropbox: Dropbox Settings → Connected Apps → Remove File Manager Pro

9. PERMISSIONS EXPLAINED

The App requests the following Android permissions:

  • Storage (READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to browse, view, copy, move, delete, and manage files on your device
  • Internet (INTERNET): Required for ads, analytics, cloud storage access, and FTP/WiFi file transfer
  • Network State (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE): Required to check internet connectivity for cloud features and file transfer
  • Install Apps (REQUEST_INSTALL_PACKAGES): Required for APK file management features
  • Delete Apps (REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES): Required for app management features

10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. These countries may have data protection laws different from your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We rely on third-party service providers (Google) who comply with international data protection frameworks.

11. DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS

The App does not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) signals as there is no standard interpretation or practice for DNT signals.

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this Privacy Policy
  • Posting the new Privacy Policy within the App (if applicable)
  • Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy
